Hey guys,

Below is the update I promised from last week, sent Friday night/Sat
morning...

Good evening all,

Well, Ryleigh Ruth is 22 hours away from being 2 weeks old.

Week 1 Ryleigh was doing well. Jenny and I were starting to discuss
coming back to work this past week. Then Saturday came, and Ryleigh
regressed a bit in her blood pressure stability, oxygen requirements,
etc. Things got worse on Sunday, and Monday.

The physicians found that there were a few issues at work. For one,
Ryleigh had an infection and had become septic (the infection had gotten
in to her blood stream). The news was good and bad; sepsis is a serious
condition, but we caught it in time, and knew what was causing her some
of her symptoms.

Ryleigh also was diagnosed with a small heart murmur caused by a Patent
Ductus Arteriosus. Babies in the womb have a small duct that transfers
blood between the aorta and pulmonary artery (a different flow path than
you or I have). In utero babies are receiving oxygen via blood transfer
from mom in the placenta instead of using their own lungs. Once babies
are born the lungs are put to work, and hormones kick in that usually
close this duct. Unfortunately, preemies have trouble closing this duct.
This heart murmur, if significant and untreated, can cause
complications.

All of these issues have caused Ryleigh to require more oxygen than she
was needing last week. It has also caused excess fluid retention, a
symptom that is exacerbated by her low protein levels. This has caused
some bloating that has to be treated as well.

This week has been dedicated to treating Ryleigh with antibiotics,
giving her protein, blood transfusions, and diuretics (to make her lose
her excess fluid). As of right now, she is stable, her infection appears
to be treated, and she seems to be progressing.

When you lose one child, you realize how precious every minute, every
hour, every day is with your little one. Every day Jenny and I thank the
Lord for the day He has given us with our beautiful Ryleigh Ruth. We
pray that He give us one more day with our daughter. He has answered our
prayers now for 13 days.

Friends, I am so appreciative of the notes you have sent. People have
offered to watch the dogs, clean our house, cook us dinner, etc. IT even
offered to give me more email inbox space. Tell me miracles don't
happen!! All kidding aside, the fact that you all show so much care and
compassion for my family is just amazing. I am truly blessed to be with
you.

So many have asked what they can do to assist Jenny, Ryleigh and I. I am
not good at asking for assistance, but I need your help.

When this whole situation arose, I told my teammates that I needed their
assistance to serve our customers. I know they are having to spend more
time away from their families so that I can spend this time with my
family. Guys, I would appreciate any assistance you could provide to
those that are picking up my slack. I doubt they will ask for any help,
but I am sure there is something that could be done to help them. I
would truly appreciate any assistance you could provide.

Second, Ryleigh and Jenny need as many prayers and positive thoughts you
can send their way. Pray that His grace helps my little girl's body to
heal and grow, and Jenny's heart to heal from the loss of Huntleigh and
the pressure of having to take care of another baby in need.

Last, there are plenty of other little babies fighting their own fights
in the NICU. Jenny and I have started including each one of these little
fighters in our prayers, and it would be so appreciated if you would do
the same. Some are in the NICU alone, fighting away without support from
their families. Others have parents that are in the same position as
Jenny and me, anxiously waiting for their babies to get better. These
little guys and gals did not ask to be in the NICU, and I would greatly
appreciate prayers and positive thoughts sent to them as well, so they
heal and grow just like Ryleigh.

Again, I thank you all for everything you have done. You guys are more
appreciated than you will ever know.

Jenny, Ryleigh and I look forward to thanking you all in person.

Bo

We need to be praying for Bo and Jenny. In addition to this, she is in
the hospital until the baby is born.

I am not sure where to start, but most of you know that Bo and Jenny
Harvey have been going through some difficult times with Jenny's
pregnancy. Yesterday, one of the two girls passed away. Her name was
Huntleigh. For those that are not familiar with the situation,
Huntleigh was 23 weeks old. Jenny's pregnancy developed complications
about a week ago and they were just too much to overcome. Huntleigh has
a twin sister that continues to develop and, hopefully, she will be here
with us in a few weeks.

Bo's email stated that he and Jenn had never experienced something quite
this painful or difficult. They know that many of us would like to be
there or to do something to help them through this, but Bo has requested
that they have some time to heal and to protect Jenny and the 2ndbaby
girl. That means they feel it is best to not have visitors or take
phone calls. He has asked that any necessary contact go through email.

Instead of gifts or flowers, Bo has requested that we make a donation to
CFF. PDI will be doing that today.

Bo has repeatedly stated his thanks for the thoughts and prayers that
have been offered on behalf of his family. I know he would appreciate
it if you would continue to remember them in your prayers.
