Dear Small Group -
 
I am writing in regards to my upcoming mission trip to India. (New Delhi, Orissa (Bhubaneswar), Bangalore, and Karnataka)
Some of you recieved letters in the mail, others I either did not have your address or I just meant
to hand it to you in person.  This email is in regards to some additional or alternative ways to participate in 'Joy India 2009'.   Our team is coordinated through First Baptist Dallas.  John and Sara Midturi from Temple are also going.   It was their idea that the following list of ways to contribute, might be a fun way for families to include their children in the process/mission. 
 
1.)  We will buy bibles to distribute in the local languages when we arrive (as many as we have money for).  They are $2-$3 each.
 
2.)   Stickers.  We can use at the clinic, as well as the orphanage.  They are light to pack, and we can probably use an insatiable amount.
 
3.)   Small (lightweight) gifts for the children at the orphanage.  The children are well cared for, but have little to call their 'own'.  Small beanie babies, etc.  We will give small gift packages to each child.  (about 90
children).  However, due to age differences, the gifts can vary.
 
4.)  Children's vitamins (have heard they can be found at the dollar store)

 

I will leave for Dallas Oct.22 (next Thursday), and for India the 23rd.
I will probably not be at small group on Friday, due to squeezing in a couple work hours when they are available (which is this fri. evening).  

This Saturday, our team meets to pack our supplies.  It would be best to have most gifts/donations by then, but would be able to accomadate small, low-to-zero weight items until next Wednesday.  And of course, please don't feel obligated in any way, just wanted to share this oppurtunity with you.
