Many kids classes were going to be closed because of a lack of volunteers. Between 3 year olds and 4<sup>th</sup><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>grade there were at least 6 classes at 9:30am and 10 classes at 11am that were scheduled to be closed for the summer as of last week. As I walked down the hall to our class this week I heard at least 4 conversations between parents about what to do since classes were closed for one or more of their kids. Some of these folks where established TBC couples, but others were not. Imagine your experience visiting a new church where you can’t put your kids in a class because there is no one wanting to serve there! What I saw and heard as I walked down the hall confirmed that what I felt God leading me to do was correct. I wouldn’t call it “taking a break” because I’m asking many of you not to “break” but rather to go serve in Children’s Ministry together with others in the class. And we don’t want to just “baby sit” but rather to truly go in with a heart to serve these kids and to grow in our own abilities to minister. On the form I sent around Sunday we got 19 people actually place there name on the list and commit to working! In addition, I had a couple other folks say they would be happy to help out as a floater or back up. Wow! Over 20 folks! The Children’s coordinators are blown away!
