Greetings. It is (finally) time to start back up our regular small group meetings. I have missed our weekly gatherings around the Word and food and prayer. As you may know we are now meeting at the Kiniry's house. I'll let them share directions.

Bible Study

Our Bible study will center around the sermon's text every week, so don't fall asleep Sunday morning. I would suggest writing down or taking note in your mind of one big question as you come away from the sermon. If we all do this, I think we will have a great discussion and really obtain the benefit from the sermon that God has for us.

Friday Nights Out

We will continue our Friday night dinners at some restaurant in town. I have thought a little more about this practice, and thought I might share why we do this.

Modern life just doesn't lead itself to unintentional crossing of paths that allow deeper fellowship to spontaneously develop.

We are all busy, but we all eat dinner on Friday night, so it is an easy time to get together.

Since Temple is still relatively small, serendipitous meetings with friends and acquaintances outside Redeemer are likely to occur at local restaurants.

Our Friday Nights Out are have a low entry barrier for invitations to friends. While meeting at a friends house for dinner and a bible study might be intimidating, eating out with friends is not.

Communication

We will continue to use the one brother list as our main mode of communication. I am considering using a facebook group, as it might be easier to reference than an email, and it is opt in so I am not managing the list. If you have a strong opinion about this, let me know.
